For the clay with love
Working with clay is a key process in art therapy. Clay grounds us, balances, soothes. It helps us to arrive in our body, to be truly present in the “here and now” reality.
Clay is a conductor of energy and “sucks” tension and aggression from our body. It helps not only to develop fine motor skills, but also to build a powerful sense of form, volume and space. Helps to connect with everything that is not “I” and in which and to which “I” touches. Modeling subtly lowers our defenses and opens a path for us to ourselves and the other, creating a safe space for us to connect. And last but not least – it educates and cultivates taste and aesthetic sense. Clay modelling activates creative potential, refines plastic language and expression – and thus reveals to us the world of the spirit and the spiritual in man.
